Camden Township Resolutions



Medical Marijuana Resolution 17-34

At their March 6, 2017 regular meeting, the Camden Trustees passed Resolution 17-34 to prohibit cultivators, processors and retail dispensaries of medical marijuana within the unincorporated territory of Camden Township, pursuant to Section 3796.29 of the Ohio Revised Code. The effective date of this Resolution shall be May 1, 2017.


Dog Regulations Resolution NO. 20-34

WHEREAS; dogs running at large have menaced people, damaged property, and created an unhealthy situation by indiscriminately defecating and urinating, and

WHEREAS, barking dogs have disturbed the peace by incessant barking at all hours of the day and night, and

WHEREAS, Lorain County has adopted no resolutions to regulate dogs, and Section 955.221 of the Ohio Revised Code provides that a township may adopt resolutions to regulated dogs provided that the county has not adopted such resolutions,

NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Camden Township Board of Trustees that Camden Township shall regulate dogs as follows:

Section I : Chapter 955 of the Ohio Revised Code is in full force in the Township.

Section II : Barking or Howling Dogs

A. No owner, harborer, or keeper shall keep or harbor any dog within the Township which, by frequent and habitual barking, howling or yelping, creates unreasonable loud and disturbing noises of such a character, intensity and duration as to disturb the peace, quiet and good order of the Township. Any person who shall allow any dog habitually to remain, be lodged or fed within any dwelling, building, yard or enclosure, which he occupies or owns, shall be considered as harboring such dog.

B. Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.

Section III: Dog Defecation

A. No owner, harborer or keeper shall dispose of dog feces on any property owner other than the property of the owner, harborer, or keeper. No owner, harborer, or keeper shall permit feces to remain on the property of another or in the road right-of-way.

B. Whoever violate this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.

Resolution Adopting Standard Fire Code:

Camden Township Trustees passed Resolution 11-33 to adopt open burning regulations pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 505.373-505.374 in Chapter 3745-19-01 thru 3745-19-06 of the Ohio Administrative Code. Effective 10-11-2011. A complete copy of the resolution and code is on file in the township office and the Lorain County Law Library. Copies are available at cost.
